Meet Sebastian

Therapy room setting where Sebastian works with clients in a warm, welcoming environment

Who Am I?

I'm a PACFA Registered Integrative Psychotherapist (Reg. #32932). But what that doesn't tell you is what it's actually like to sit in a room with me — which is probably what you're trying to figure out.

My approach is somatic and relational. I work with the understanding that your body holds memories and patterns your conscious mind doesn't have access to. When we bring presence and curiosity to those bodily experiences, that's often where the deepest shifts happen. I'm also deeply informed by attachment theory — how our earliest relationships shape our nervous systems, our capacity for connection, and the patterns we play out.

I specialise in trauma — both the big singular events and the smaller, accumulating ones that shape us over time. I also work with anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, and the kind of existential questioning that doesn't always have a neat diagnostic label. Whatever you bring, I won't shy away from it.

What I Bring Beyond Training

My work doesn't come from theory alone. I have a deep personal practice in contemplative traditions, central to my own healing. Not spiritual bypassing or idealising calmness — it's about coming to terms with my reactions so I can meet each one with authenticity, and find presence and compassion rather than criticism and blame.

I come to this work with lived experience. I understand what it means to carry heaviness, to feel disconnected from yourself, to wonder if things can really change. That understanding isn't something I lost once I "became a therapist" — it remains central to how I show up. I don't carry an air of clinical distance. I bring genuine human connection and real attunement to what you're experiencing.

Something that isn't well known: being a therapist can be a lonely experience. You're meeting people in such depth of intimacy and vulnerability, but that is always a private thing. I share this because I want you to know this work genuinely matters to me. Sitting with another person in therapy stays with me long after the session ends. It gives back as much as I give.

I wouldn't be doing this unless I knew how effective it is. I want you to get the most out of therapy — so that one day, hopefully soon, you won't need it anymore. That purpose is something I keep in the forefront of my mind. Therapy is a kind of work, and a client has to learn how to be a good client, how to get the most out of it. A lot of people never get taught that. Part of my job is helping you learn.

I have walked a diverse path, and what it has taught me is that authenticity matters more than perfection, vulnerability takes strength and courage, and we all want our healing to be witnessed by someone.

Clinical Supervision & Accountability

Dr Tra-ill Dowie PhD, Clinical Supervisor

Dr Tra-ill Dowie PhD

Clinical Supervisor

To ensure the quality and integrity of my practice, I work under regular clinical supervision with Dr Tra-ill Dowie PhD. This is both a professional requirement and a personal commitment to accountability and excellence.

What does this mean for you?

Clinical supervision ensures that your therapy is grounded in evidence-based practice, ethical standards, and professional accountability. It's an additional layer of safeguarding, a place where I bring challenging cases, reflect on the work, and commit to continuously improving my practice. This means you can trust that you're receiving therapy from someone who takes their responsibility seriously and is committed to providing you with the highest standard of care.

What I Believe

That Healing is Possible

No matter what you've been through or where you are right now, real change is genuinely possible. Not a toxic positivity kind of "everything happens for a reason," but a grounded understanding that humans are remarkably resilient and that change can happen when we have the right conditions and support.

That You Already Have What You Need

My job isn't to fix you or give you something you're lacking. It's to help you reconnect with what you already carry — your body's intelligence, your own experience, your capacity for change.

That Your Body Matters

Talk therapy alone can only take us so far. Working with the whole of you — your nervous system, your physical sensations, your breath — is often where the most lasting change happens.

That Relationship is Healing

We're creatures built for connection. Loneliness and shame thrive in isolation. The therapeutic relationship itself—a space where you're fully seen and accepted—is one of the most powerful healing tools we have. That's why I show up fully present, genuine, and genuinely interested in your story.
